Reform of political and electoral system in Serbia - Round Table

Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, is organizing a Round Table „Reform of political and electoral system in Serbia" on 10th of July 2015, at 10 a.m. at the premises of the Faculty. The purpose of the event is to gather members of academic community and representatives of political elite and civil society to make joint contribution to the debate on reform of political system in Serbia.

The Round table will be consisted of two parts. The first part, Reform of the electoral system, will be dedicated to proposals for improvement of constitutional and legal regulations that refer to elections, with special regard to the issue of relation between voters and MPs.

During the second panel, Political parties in-between governance and voters, participants will discuss the legislative framework and political practice in Serbia, and try to formulate proposals that would help citizens produce greater impact on decision-making process, but also make political processes more transparent and democratic.

At the beginning of both panels, panelists will present the most important findings of the project „Balkan Comparative Electoral Study: Impact of Personal Vote on Internal Party Relations" , supported by the Regional Research Promotion Programme in the Western Balkans (RRPP).
