International Scientific Conference in Podgorica

Center for Monitoring and Research CeMI is organizing an international scientific conference „Impact of Personal Vote on Internal Party Democracy“. The conference will be from 1st – 2nd of July 2016, with the support of University Donja Gorica and with participation of international and regional experts.

The conference aims to present the main findings and products of the project including four national and two comparative analysis of internal party democracy developments in the region of Western Balkans, as well as empirical data collected through region-wide conducted surveys on this topic. In addition to that, the purpose of the conference is to examine other aspects of political parties’ democratization, with regard to current electoral systems and models for electoral reform, not only in the Balkans but in rest of Europe as well. The conference will be attended by representatives of the Swiss Centre of Expertise in Social Sciences – FORS, international scholars in the field of electoral and party systems, as well as regional and domestic experts.

The event forms part of the regional project “Balkan Electoral Comparative Study: Impact of Personal Vote on Internal Party Democracy”, implemented within the Regional Research Promotion Programme in the Western Balkans (RRPP), which is funded by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC and conducted by the University of Fribourg. This project is being implemented in Western Balkans countries, in co-operation with Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, Kosovar Think Tank KIPRED, and group of experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
